God's Timing Is Everything

Sunday, April 12, 2020

I’ve learned a valuable lesson the other day — that God’s timing is everything. It always amazes me how God will use the simplest things to grab our attention and bring things full circle. Like, the smallest thing, which means that we have to pay attention to the details of our lives. Even down to an idea. We may want to do things on our time when things best fit our schedule, but I’m telling you when God says move you move.

The other day, after I painted, an idea popped up in my mind. It was so detailed that I didn’t have to put any more thought into it. I quickly wrote it down and automatically said that I would do it later — “when I felt like it.” Sometimes we can’t do things when we feel like it; otherwise, we will miss our window of opportunity. Deep down inside, I knew that I was not supposed to wait to work on it. I knew I had to do it now, but yet and still, I didn’t make a move. It helps to have people around you that will encourage you and hold you accountable. I shared the idea with my mom, and she told me that I had to do it now. That was the second time I was told to do it now. At that moment, I knew that I had to listen. God will send messages and conformation through the people around you. After the project was completed, I intended to release it on another day. My mom told me to release it once I was done. In my mind, I thought that Monday would be a better day. Man, I must really love waiting for the “perfect time” to do anything. I will say that there will be things that you have to wait for in life, and it will help you build your patience. Then there will be things that require immediate action. I decided not to fight my mom on this one and listen to her. Usually, when someone would tell me to do the opposite of what I felt, I wouldn’t listen. Let’s say that I’ve been very stubborn in the past when my mom would give her advice, but not this time.

I’m grateful that I listened because the message that I put out was received by the people who needed to hear it. The ideas that you may have may not be for you but for someone else. So, if you don’t act on what has been shown to you, then you could be robbing someone of an enlightening moment for their life — their aha moment. The longer you wait to do what God has called you to do, the longer you will be waiting on that next level in your life. You may even begin to feel stuck or unmotivated, and that’s because you didn’t complete what you were supposed to do. There is an order to life, to your life, don’t throw it out of order by not listening. Grow and build with what God has given you. Through that, you will see how your life will transform from the inside to the outside. Take this time that we’ve been given to work on listening because I promise God is talking to you. Today is a great day to reflect and be thankful for many things. Happy Resurrection Sunday! 🙏🏽
